The Salt Worker Experience also includes the Salt Worker Trail: an approximately 1.2 km route through the salt pans, winding between salt ponds, embankments and unique landscapes, designed to introduce you to the salt production process, the history of the salt pans and the distinctive features of this extraordinary environment.

You can explore the trail either before or after the Salt Worker Experience and enjoy your visit at your own pace: there is no time limit on how long you can stay inside the salt pans, so you can stop along the way, admire the landscape, discover the different areas and enjoy the atmosphere of Saline Culcasi without rushing.

The Salt Worker Trail

Explore Saline Culcasi along an approximately 1.2 km panoramic and educational trail, which you can enjoy freely before or after the hands-on salt harvesting activity.

• 1.2 km through the Saline Culcasi salt pans, walking between salt ponds and embankments.
• Information panels along the trail explaining the different stages of sea salt production, from the entry of seawater to crystallisation and harvesting.
• Access to the Salt Room, a space dedicated to discovering different types of salt and salts from around the world.
• Learn more about distinctive features of the salt pans such as Acqua Madre (Mother Brine) and Mamma Caura.
• A panoramic trail immersed in the salt-pan landscape, with beautiful views over the ponds, windmills and the Egadi Islands.
• Stay as long as you like: you can remain inside the salt pans for as long as you wish and enjoy the trail without rushing.

At your booked time, the most engaging part of the experience begins: step into a salt pond and experience the traditional work of a salt worker first-hand.
