Today's scientific studies confirm the antiseptic and antipyretic action of mint essential oil, useful in case of colds, while its bactericidal properties have proven to be particularly effective in neutralizing various bacterial strains.

Also excellent for relieving neck tension, muscle pain, in case of sprains, and rheumatism as it exerts an analgesic and anti-rheumatic action.

The mint essence, thanks to its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory properties, is useful in the treatment of boils, ringworm, scabies, ulcers, herpes zoster and dermatitis. Furthermore, due to its calming action against itching, it is used effectively as a remedy against insect bites.

The name of the plant, according to mythology, derives from that of the nymph Mintha, daughter of Cocito, one of the five rivers of the Underworld, loved by Hades and transformed by Persephone, who was jealous of her rival, into this herb, and condemned to grow near water.

However, in order not to completely offend the god of the Underworld, the goddess allowed the plant to still possess something pleasant somewhere in its body: the fresh aroma of its perfume.
